Wine and Beer

Our extensive, international wine list is all about diversity and great value: we have an always-rotating cast of 100 great wines, all priced under $100/bottle, ALL OF THEM available by the half-bottle carafe. There’s also an ever-growing “reserve” list of finer and rarer bottlings from around the world. Owner/wine director David Lynch is usually on hand to help with your selections, although everyone on the St. Vincent staff is well-equipped to offer expert guidance.

Savvy St. Vincent guests tend to be commitment-phobes: They may start with a half-bottle of white wine with appetizers, then move on to a half-bottle (or two, or three) of red as the meal progresses. Then maybe some beer with cheese and dessert…

The end result of this half-bottle program is an often dizzying array of available wine for the adventurous drinker. If we have something open and you’d like just a glass? It’s yours. On any given night the options available to you by the glass or half bottle number in the dozens.

St. Vincent takes beer every bit as seriously as wine, with Certified Cicerone Sayre Piotrkowski curating the draft and bottle selections. Sayre’s close relationships with brewers have enabled him to assemble an all-star cast of California craft brewers to populate SV’s 8 draft beer lines. St. Vincent ONLY serves locally brewed beers on draft, further insisting that these beers come directly from their respective breweries, therefore ensuring maximum freshness. These 8 draft handles typically feature some of the most sought-after, limited-production brews from great local producers such as Moonlight, Craftsman, Linden Street, Dying Vines, and Pacific Brew Labs.

Once again, experimentation is encouraged: There are no 16-oz. “pint” glasses at St. Vincent, and therefore no two-thirds-drunk beers on the bar getting warm and ignored. We do 8-ounce “tasters” and 12-ounce glasses to add flexibility to your beer-drinking experience.

Finally, don’t forget about Sayre’s creative, obscure, delicious roster of bottled beers from all over the globe. These beers, like our wines, are chosen based on being representative of their native “terroirs,” many of them inimitable styles from Germany, Belgium, the UK, and elsewhere.
